It's a cheap hard drive and does the job, I only use it for everyday use none important stuff, I would not relay on it with sensitive or important data.
The product arrived and I noticed it was missing a screw that connected the inside components to the outer protective casing, which by the way I could pull it straight out of (I don’t know if it’s supposed to be able to do that.) I plugged it in to see if it would still work and it did, so I wrote it off as not being important. Should have returned it when I had the chance. Now, only two months later, my console no longer recognizes that there’s anything, let alone a storage device, even connected to it. Tried restarting the console, plugging the USB end into all other outlets on the console, even blowing on all the ports; nothing. Waste of a gift card.
If you ask Amazon the question about if it works with the ps5? Well it tells you it can, but not specifically but it does say it can work but all you gotta do it reformat it. Well I was kinda iffy if that actually would work? Well I’m happy to say it does. Like I tells you it lets you download them to the extender but can’t play directly from it. That part was true, it did allow you do transfer from your PS4 to the ps5. Which is really the only reason I bought this since the one I found was digital and I just needed more space. Once I formatted it . It worked perfectly and since I got the ps5 slim it matches it perfectly. So besides looking awesome it works very well and. SO I have a whole TB of external storage. So I’m jumping for joy cuz it took me and my crew almost a year for all of us to finally get a PS5. Beyond happy and if your like me and wondered if it worked for pS5. Let me tell you YES is does. You won’t be disappointed. Thank me later.
