Pros: What Gamers Love About the Corsair MP600 Elite
1. Seamless PS5 Compatibility
One of the standout features of the Corsair MP600 Elite is its PS5 compatibility. Many users reported that other M.2 drives either didn’t fit or weren’t recognized by their PS5. However, the MP600 Elite worked flawlessly right out of the box. One customer said, “Had a few issues with other M.2 drives not being compatible with my PS5, but this one recognized immediately and fit perfectly.” This plug-and-play experience is a huge plus for gamers who want a hassle-free upgrade.
2. Blazing-Fast Speeds
The PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe interface delivers exceptional performance, with sequential read speeds of up to 7,000MB/sec. Gamers praised the SSD for its ability to reduce load times significantly. One reviewer noted, “The speed and performance are amazing—no lag, just smooth gameplay.” Whether you’re loading massive open-world games or switching between apps, the MP600 Elite ensures everything runs smoothly.
3. Built-in Heatsink for Optimal Cooling
The pre-installed aluminum heatsink is a game-changer for maintaining performance during long gaming sessions. Customers appreciated how well the heatsink dissipates heat, preventing throttling and ensuring consistent speeds. One user shared, “The heatsink cover dissipates heat efficiently, and the read/write speeds are lightning fast.” This feature is especially crucial for PS5 users, as the console’s compact design can lead to heat buildup.
4. Ample Storage Capacity
With 2TB of storage, the MP600 Elite provides plenty of space for your game library. One gamer mentioned, “With 2TB of storage, I can store more games without worrying about running out of space.” For those who prefer the 4TB version, the storage capacity is even more impressive. A reviewer with the 4TB model said, “Even the 50 beefiest titles don’t completely fill the storage. This has allowed me to keep my 75 favorite games always downloaded and up to date.”
5. Sleek Design and Easy Installation
The white design of the MP600 Elite matches the PS5’s aesthetic perfectly, making it a stylish addition to your setup. Installation is also a breeze, with many users describing it as quick and straightforward. One customer said, “Easy install and what I needed. It’s works well, and I loved how it was white just like the PS5!”
Cons: Areas for Improvement
1. Price Point
While the Corsair MP600 Elite delivers top-tier performance, it comes at a premium price. Some users felt that the cost was a bit steep compared to other M.2 SSDs on the market. However, most agreed that the performance and reliability justified the investment. One reviewer noted, “It was a fair price for the quality and speed you’re getting.”
2. Limited Availability of 4TB Model
While the 2TB version is widely available, the 4TB model can be harder to find and is significantly more expensive. Gamers who need massive storage capacity may need to hunt for this version or settle for the 2TB option.
3. Heat Dissipation Under Extreme Load
Although the built-in heatsink performs well under normal conditions, some users reported that the SSD can get warm during extended periods of heavy use. One reviewer mentioned, “This thing cooks, and not in a bad way. It didn’t have heat issues writing hundreds of gigs non-stop, but it does get warm.” While this isn’t a dealbreaker, it’s something to keep in mind if you plan on pushing the SSD to its limits.
Final Thoughts: Is the Corsair MP600 Elite Worth It?
The Corsair MP600 Elite 2TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe SSD is a premium storage solution that delivers on its promises. With blazing-fast speeds, seamless PS5 compatibility, and a built-in heatsink, it’s an excellent choice for gamers looking to upgrade their console’s storage. The 2TB capacity provides ample space for your game library, while the sleek white design complements the PS5’s aesthetic.
However, the higher price point and limited availability of the 4TB model may be drawbacks for some users. Additionally, while the heatsink performs well, the SSD can get warm under extreme loads.
Final Verdict
If you’re serious about gaming and want a reliable, high-performance SSD for your PS5, the Corsair MP600 Elite is worth every penny. It’s a top-tier product that combines speed, style, and functionality, making it one of the best storage upgrades on the market. As one satisfied customer put it, “If you're looking for the right NVMe to upgrade your PS5, this is definitely worth the price. Get it.”

Comments from Amazon:
The Corsair MP600 Elite 2TB SSD is a game-changer for my PS5! The installation was quick and easy, and the included heatsink keeps everything cool during long gaming sessions. With 2TB of storage, I can store more games without worrying about running out of space. The speed and performance are amazing, no lag, just smooth gameplay. Highly recommend this SSD for anyone looking to upgrade their PS5 storage!
Don't be mistaken, just because they say these M.2 PCe Gen 4's are for PS5. I've now bought 3 of the 4TB size, and they have performed phenomally well. These have made my White PC Build Pop, but above all, the performance and staying cool under a load is excellent. The Heat sink cover dissipates heat efficiently and the read/write speeds are lightning fast. As a gamer, the sheer Storage is such a savior, especially considering slower internet provider speeds. Ever have to decide which games to keep downloaded, but a new game arrives and got to uninstall to make room, of course you have who hasn't. Well I can tell you, with 4 TB's even the 50 beefiest titles don't completely fill the storage. This has allowed me to keep my 75 favorite games always downloaded and up to date with plenty of headroom left over just on a single M.2. As for the other's content creation and a massive digital series/movies plus music files. You can trust Consair to provide quality products, but this honestly outclasses everything else I've seen on the market in terms of storage/speed per cost. If you need the high storage, I strongly recommend swinging for at least the 2TB.
easy to install and quick as well. it was a fair price and it reads at almost 1gig so its more than capable for ps5 and pc
This thing cooks, and not in a bad way. Looks and feels well made. Fit well, and didn't have heat issues writing hundreds of gigs non-stop. Corsair is reputed for longevity. If you're considering other drives, be very careful about who you buy from, and their practical chip longevity. It's your data. I'm completely satisfied with this product.
It’s works well and I loved how it was white just like PS5!
Easy install and what I needed
Had a few issues with other M.2 Drives not being compatible with my PS5, this one recognized immediately, fit perfectly and runs incredibly smooth and cool. If you're looking for the right NVME to upgrade your PS5, this is definitely worth the price. Get it.
