Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying
Performance and Speed
Pros:
- Fast and Reliable
Many users have praised the EN705 SSD for its impressive read/write speeds, which significantly reduce load times for games and applications. One customer noted, "Nothing like a shot of 32GB of DDR5 RAM to boost laptop performance! Great product at an amazing price." - Seamless Gaming Experience
Gamers have found this SSD to be a game-changer, especially for PS5 users. "It was easy to install and feels seamless when saving and loading games off of it. Very much plug and play, and I love it," shared one satisfied user. - Efficient Multitasking
The SSD handles multiple tasks with ease, making it ideal for both gaming and professional use. "I built a new computer from scratch about four months ago. Threw THREE of these in there. I'm using two for video game storage, and one as my main hard drive," said another user.
Cons:
- Not the Fastest on the Market
While the EN705 SSD offers excellent performance for its price, it’s not the fastest SSD available. "Not the fastest memory on the market, or the biggest in terms of storage. But it does the job," mentioned one user. - Read/Write Speeds Could Be Better
Some users felt that the read/write speeds could be improved, especially for professional-grade tasks. "Read/Write speeds could be better, but you're not getting anything with more quality than this for the price," said a customer.
Installation and Compatibility
Pros:
- Easy Installation
The EN705 SSD comes with a user-friendly installation kit, including screws and a screwdriver, making it easy to set up. "Easy to install, works perfect," said one user. - Wide Compatibility
The SSD is compatible with a variety of systems, including PS5, Windows PCs, and Macs. "Worked for PS5 and Windows PC. I used it as a 2nd M.2 for local cloud storage," shared another user.
Cons:
- Heat Sink Compatibility Issues
Some users noted that the included heat sink might not fit in all systems, especially if the PC or console already has its own heat sink. "Just remember that if your PC or console comes equipped with its own heat sink, or if there isn't much space around the SSD slot, then you will need to use the SSD without attaching the included heat sink," advised one user.
Durability and Reliability
Pros:
- Long-Lasting Performance
The EN705 SSD is built to last, with a 5-year warranty and a 1400TBW endurance rating. "I had a HDD, and it was very loud. I knew I wanted an SSD, but most options I found were more than $80 dollars for 1TB, and I just wasn't willing to pay that. This SSD came with free shipping and a great deal," said one user. - Thermal Control
The SSD’s thermal control design ensures optimal performance even under heavy workloads. "The CPU is water-cooled, and there's a single 140mm radiator (exhaust) along with three additional 140mm case fans (2 intake, 1 exhaust). Works great so far," shared another user.
Cons:
- Budget Option
While the EN705 SSD offers great value for its price, it may not be the best choice for users who need the highest performance and storage capacity. "It's a nice budget option for PC memory or even an expansion slot for a gaming console," mentioned one user.
Conclusion: Is the EN705 SSD Worth It?
The EN705 SSD 2TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 2280 is a solid choice for gamers, creatives, and anyone looking to upgrade their storage without breaking the bank. While it may not be the fastest or most high-end SSD on the market, it offers excellent performance, reliability, and value for its price. The easy installation process, wide compatibility, and efficient thermal control make it a versatile option for various systems, including PS5, laptops, and desktops.
Final Verdict
If you're looking for a budget-friendly SSD that delivers reliable performance and fast speeds, the EN705 SSD is a great choice. However, if you need the absolute best performance for professional-grade tasks, you might want to consider higher-end options. For most users, though, the EN705 SSD offers everything you need for a seamless gaming and computing experience.

Nothing like a shot of 32gb of DDR5 Ram to boost laptop performance! Great product at an amazing price.
4TB SSD memory with a bolt-on heatsink. NVMe M.2 with PCIe Generation 4. Not the fastest memory on the market, or the biggest in terms of storage. But it does the job. It's a nice budget option for PC memory or even an expansion slot for a gaming console. If you like to watch movies, play video games, listen to music, or watch streaming TV (i.e. Netflix or Disney+) this can handle it. You don't need the faster memory bus or "PCIe Gen5" technology unless you're getting into app development, GIS mapping & computations, molecular modeling, climate modeling, or AutoCAD engineering on a professional level - something where you're working with single files bigger than 250GB all day every day. I built a new computer from scratch about four months ago. Threw THREE of these in there. I'm using two for video game storage, and one as my main hard drive. The CPU is water-cooled and there's a single 140mm radiator (exhaust) along with three additional 140mm case fans (2 intake, 1 exhaust). Works great so far. Just remember that if your PC or console comes equipped with its own heat sink, or if there isn't much space around the SSD slot, then you will need to use the SSD without attaching the included heat sink.
Easy to install, works perfect
Worked for ps5 and windows pc. I used it as a 2nd m.2 for local cloud storage
I do not know anything about the most optimized SSD nor do I care enough to educate myself on this matter. All I know is that I needed more storage for my PS5. I bought this because it was at a great price and with good reviews. It was a great decision because it was easy to install and feels seamless when saving and loading games off of it. Very much plug and play and I love it.
I had a HDD, and it was very loud, I knew I wanted an SSD, but most options I found were more than $80 dollars for 1TB, and I just wasn't willing to pay that. This SSD came with free shipping, and a great deal. Read/Write speeds could be better, but your not getting anything with more quality than this for the price.
No problems, works great. Fast and easy. Was apprehensive about the price point, but have not been let down.
