Built with 3D TLC NAND Flash and a DRAM cache, it ensures high-performance bandwidth and low latency, making it perfect for gamers, designers, and tech enthusiasts.

Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying

Performance and Speed

The EN855 SSD has been praised for its impressive performance, especially for its price point. Many users have noted that it significantly reduces load times and enhances overall system responsiveness. One customer mentioned, "Nothing like a shot of 32GB of DDR5 RAM to boost laptop performance! Great product at an amazing price." Another user highlighted its seamless integration with their PS5, stating, "It was easy to install and feels seamless when saving and loading games off of it. Very much plug and play, and I love it."

However, some users pointed out that while the SSD is fast, it’s not the fastest on the market. One reviewer noted, "Not the fastest memory on the market, or the biggest in terms of storage. But it does the job. It's a nice budget option for PC memory or even an expansion slot for a gaming console." If you’re looking for cutting-edge speed, this might not be the top choice, but for most gamers and everyday users, it’s more than sufficient.

Ease of Installation

One of the standout features of the EN855 SSD is its ease of installation. Multiple customers have praised how straightforward it is to set up, even for those who aren’t tech-savvy. A satisfied user shared, "Easy to install, works perfect." Another echoed this sentiment, saying, "I do not know anything about the most optimized SSD nor do I care enough to educate myself on this matter. All I know is that I needed more storage for my PS5. I bought this because it was at a great price and with good reviews."

The inclusion of a user guide, screws, and a screwdriver further simplifies the installation process, making it accessible for beginners and experienced builders alike.

Thermal Efficiency and Heatsink Design

The built-in heatsink is a major selling point for this SSD, as it helps maintain optimal thermal control during intense gaming sessions or heavy workloads. One user shared their experience, saying, "4TB SSD memory with a bolt-on heatsink. NVMe M.2 with PCIe Generation 4." Another customer highlighted its compatibility with their PS5, noting, "Worked for PS5 and Windows PC. I used it as a 2nd M.2 for local cloud storage."

However, it’s worth noting that the heatsink might not fit in all systems. A reviewer cautioned, "Just remember that if your PC or console comes equipped with its own heat sink, or if there isn't much space around the SSD slot, then you will need to use the SSD without attaching the included heat sink." This is something to consider if you’re working with a compact build.

Durability and Longevity

The EN855 SSD is built to last, with a 5-year limited warranty and a 700TBW durability rating. Customers have expressed confidence in its long-term reliability, especially given its budget-friendly price. One user shared, "I built a new computer from scratch about four months ago. Threw THREE of these in there. I'm using two for video game storage, and one as my main hard drive. Works great so far."

While the SSD is durable, some users mentioned that the read/write speeds could be better. A reviewer stated, "Read/Write speeds could be better, but you're not getting anything with more quality than this for the price." If you’re looking for top-tier performance, this might not be the best option, but for most users, it strikes a great balance between affordability and functionality.

Conclusion: Is the EN855 SSD Worth It?

The EN855 Internal Gaming SSD with Heatsink 1TB PCIe Gen4 is a solid choice for gamers, content creators, and everyday users looking to upgrade their storage without breaking the bank. Its impressive speed, ease of installation, and built-in heatsink make it a versatile option for both PS5 and PC users. While it may not be the fastest or most advanced SSD on the market, it offers excellent value for its price, making it a great budget-friendly option.

Final Verdict:

  • Pros
Affordable, easy to install, reliable performance, built-in heatsink, PS5 and PC compatibility.
  • Cons
Not the fastest SSD, heatsink may not fit all systems, read/write speeds could be better.

If you’re looking for a dependable SSD that delivers solid performance without the premium price tag, the EN855 is a fantastic choice. Whether you’re upgrading your gaming console or building a new PC, this SSD is a reliable and cost-effective solution.

Comments from Amazon:

 Fast and easy

No problems, works great. Fast and easy. Was apprehensive about the price point, but have not been let down.

Nothing like a shot of 32gb of DDR5 Ram to boost laptop performance! Great product at an amazing price.

 NVMe M

4TB SSD memory with a bolt-on heatsink. NVMe M.2 with PCIe Generation 4. Not the fastest memory on the market, or the biggest in terms of storage. But it does the job. It's a nice budget option for PC memory or even an expansion slot for a gaming console. If you like to watch movies, play video games, listen to music, or watch streaming TV (i.e. Netflix or Disney+) this can handle it. You don't need the faster memory bus or "PCIe Gen5" technology unless you're getting into app development, GIS mapping & computations, molecular modeling, climate modeling, or AutoCAD engineering on a professional level - something where you're working with single files bigger than 250GB all day every day. I built a new computer from scratch about four months ago. Threw THREE of these in there. I'm using two for video game storage, and one as my main hard drive. The CPU is water-cooled and there's a single 140mm radiator (exhaust) along with three additional 140mm case fans (2 intake, 1 exhaust). Works great so far. Just remember that if your PC or console comes equipped with its own heat sink, or if there isn't much space around the SSD slot, then you will need to use the SSD without attaching the included heat sink.

This SSD came with free shipping, and a great deal

I had a HDD, and it was very loud, I knew I wanted an SSD, but most options I found were more than $80 dollars for 1TB, and I just wasn't willing to pay that. This SSD came with free shipping, and a great deal. Read/Write speeds could be better, but your not getting anything with more quality than this for the price.
