THIS WAS MY FIRST PURCHASE OF AN SSD for my HP laptop. My laptop had a 256gb SSD but I could no longer access my data after BITLOCKER froze me out, So I decided to replace my orig drive & reload my OS. The SSD works great and the price was very reasonable.
Fit into the M2 slot and let me re-install WIN10. Seems like every 2 or 3 yrs the SSD goes bad in my desktop. Hope this brand will last at least 5yrs
Not my first one of these, they plug in easily, and this one actually included a screw. I would caution if you are cloning a drive that is larger than this one though: After trying multiple clone software, none of them would do it (at least the free versions) except Macrium Reflect. I signed up for the trial version and it worked, the only thing to watch out for is adjusting the partitions (which the software does with a couple clicks). My HP laptop from 2022 was bogging down like crazy, even after doubling the memory, so since it came with a mechanical HDD I figured it's gotta go. it now boots in about 30 seconds (slow for an SSD I know , but better than 2 minutes or more that it was doing) I debated the 512 GB size, but since it's primarily just for the OS it should be fine. And I re-installed the old HDD for storage, next purchase will be another SSD for that. PRO TIP: when ordering a custom laptop from HP, spring for the SSD, you'll thank me later.
It worked so far… I am not a computer expert so I did not know that you have to format it otherwise it will not show up on the computer. I checked a video on youtube on how to fix the problem and it finally showed up as a separate storage option.
