I’m using this in my 12gen Intel/Z690 build. I’m running Windows 11, play video games, and backing up Blu-Rays. I’m really happy with the transfer speeds. Moving the big (<40GB) video backups is fast and game load times are significantly shorter. Much faster than my old 2.5” SATA SSD.


The third time I re-installed Windows 11 and Linux on it, I realized it was this KC3000 causing the problems

Seemed OK at first but after 6 months Windows 11 kept claiming it's files were corrupt, then it started leaking a black oil like substance and I got FATAL power events in Windows. The third time I re-installed Windows 11 and Linux on it, I realized it was this KC3000 causing the problems. It lasted 10 months but has been somehow damaged since month 5. Back to WD_Black!! DO NOT TOUCH THESE DRIVES! All my pals who bought these in February 2022 have had the same experience with these KC3000 1TB drives.

I originally got this for the nvme board for my Raspberry Pi 5. Unfortunately it isn't compatible with that board. Fortunately it's compatible with everything else and it works just great. I'm very happy with it's performance.

If you don’t have the most recent M.2 port on your computer/laptop it will not reach the speeds listed. After installing it in a brand new laptop I saw the speeds I was supposed to. Great option, high speed but it does require something almost brand new at this time.
