With USB 3.2 Gen 2 technology, this SSD delivers impressive read speeds of up to 500 MB/s and write speeds of up to 450 MB/s, making it perfect for transferring large files like 4K videos, high-resolution photos, and gaming data. Its sleek aluminum housing not only looks stylish but also provides durability against shocks and drops.
The package includes a USB Type-C to C cable, a USB Type-C to A adapter, and a leatherette sleeve for added protection. Whether you're a business traveler, a creative professional, or a gamer, the Netac 1TB Portable SSD is a versatile and dependable storage solution.
Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying
Speed and Performance
One of the standout features of the Netac 1TB Portable SSD is its speed. Customers rave about how quickly it transfers files, even large ones. One reviewer shared their experience transferring over 62 GB of World of Warcraft files, add-ons, and WoW Classic in less than 10 minutes. This makes it an excellent choice for gamers who need fast storage to run modern games smoothly.
However, some users noted that performance can vary depending on the USB generation and the type of files being transferred. Large files transfer faster than a collection of smaller files, which is typical for most SSDs.
Portability and Design
The Netac SSD’s compact and lightweight design is a major selling point. It’s small enough to fit in your pocket, making it ideal for travel or on-the-go use. The included leatherette sleeve adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring the drive stays safe during transport.
One reviewer compared its size to Apple’s SSD, noting that it’s just as compact. The aluminum housing not only looks premium but also helps dissipate heat, though some users mentioned that the drive can get warm during extended use.
Durability and Build Quality
The reinforced aluminum frame and shock-resistant design make this SSD a durable choice for everyday use. However, one customer reported that their drive failed after 14 months of use, despite not being exposed to extreme conditions. While this seems to be an isolated incident, it’s worth noting that durability can vary from unit to unit.
Compatibility and Accessories
The Netac 1TB Portable SSD comes with both USB Type-C to C and USB Type-C to A cables, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices. This is a huge plus for users who switch between different systems, such as laptops, desktops, and gaming consoles.
However, one user mentioned that the SSD didn’t work with their Samsung USB port due to power requirements. This highlights the importance of checking compatibility with specific devices before purchasing.
Heat Management
While the SSD performs well under normal conditions, some users noted that it can get warm during extended use. One reviewer advised against keeping the drive in its sleeve while in use, as the aluminum casing can trap heat. This is a minor inconvenience but something to keep in mind if you plan to use the drive for long periods.
Conclusion: Is the Netac 1TB Portable SSD Worth It?
The Netac 1TB Portable SSD is a fantastic choice for anyone in need of fast, portable, and reliable storage. Its impressive read and write speeds, compact design, and durable build make it a standout option in its price range. The included accessories, such as the USB cables and leatherette sleeve, add significant value to the package.
However, there are a few drawbacks to consider. Some users reported issues with durability, and the drive can get warm during extended use. Additionally, compatibility with certain devices may be limited due to power requirements.
Overall, the Netac 1TB Portable SSD is a solid investment for gamers, professionals, and casual users alike. While it may not be perfect, its performance and portability make it a top contender in the external SSD market. If you’re looking for a reliable and high-speed storage solution, this SSD is definitely worth considering.

Comments from Amazon:
With WoW Shadowlands just on the horizon and the recommendation of utilizing solid state storage for the game, I decided to order this SSD to see just how much my gaming could improve (I game on an HP Pavilion Gaming Edition desktop with 1tb 7200 RPM HDD). I have used Micro SDs by this brand in the past and this SSD was def not a disappointment! Comes with Type-C converter (so do not buy a Type-C to Type-C cord like I did. The converter they supply will plug right onto the USB 3.1 end of the cord so you can utilize a Type-C port for data transfer). A leatherette sleeve is also included and works wonderfully - the drive fits nice and snug inside of it! Arrived on time and as described! For such an amazing value, you can't beat it! It gets a smidge warm when using it to game, but doesn't get too hot (do not keep it in the case when in use. It is aluminum and this will cause extra heat). Transferring files was FAST! WoW is currently over 62 GB and it transfered the entire slew of files for that, my add-ons, and WoW Classic in less than 10 mins! I highly recommend NeTac for all of your electronic storage needs. They sport a great value with quality products. 5 well earned stars!
Stable and compact
I just received this a day ago so this is a quick review. I just wanted to put some benchmarks up running Crystal Disk Mark "real world" performance. This is running off USB 3 hub in an Opitplex 7060 in Windows. I copied about 60 gigs and it did take a few minutes. You're going to get better performance on large files compared to a lot of small files. Obviously it does matter what your USB 3+ gen is. as another reviewer said it does get a bit warm so keep that in mind if you're planning on doing a lot with it. I plan to use it in Linux as well so I'd recommend sticking with the exfat file system but you can always make several partitions in case you want to boot into a live USB situation. It does include a USB to C adapter so that you can use it USB-C to USB-C. It DOES NOT work in my Samsung USB port as it requires more power but it's not a deal I didn't get it for that purpose.
Had I written this review in the first year of use, it would have been 5 star. Very small, lightweight and portable and easy to use. I set this up on my macbook pro as a time machine drive and it worked very well. But 14 months after purchase, it's suddenly dead. I did not expose this to the elements, no heat/water or shock. It mostly sat on my desk connected to my docking hub. The mac sees the drive in the Disk Utility, but cannot repair or mount it. The blue lights turn on occasionally, but there is no other sign of life. I've got 14 months of back up on this little drive and now it's about as useful as a stale pack of chewing gum and pretty much the same size. I'm very disappointed, and while I don't expect a drive to last forever, I would certainly don't think it's unreasonable to assume an SD drive will not fail after barely one year of use.
small size. Fast read and write speeds. My previous external drive wasn't fast enough to run modern computer games, and would cause them to crash. I've tried them with this product and they run fine now.
exactly same size as Apple SSd
No complaints would buy again for sure. This little guy is fast, small, and comes with a USB A-to-C cord and adapter, and sleeve. Very happy with this purchase.
