Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying

Performance: Speed That Impresses

One of the standout features of the Fikwot FX815 is its performance. Customers have praised its ability to deliver read speeds of up to 560MB/s and write speeds of 490MB/s, which is a significant improvement over traditional HDDs.

  • Gaming Performance
A PS4 Pro user reported that the SSD drastically reduced load times compared to their old HDD. They mentioned, "Easy install and faster load times compared to the HDD that was replaced."
  • Desktop Upgrades
Another customer building a new desktop computer found the SSD to be a great addition, stating, "Speeds are great. Save some money and go with this one."
  • External Use
One user paired the SSD with a USB 3.2 external drive case and noted, "Good transfer speeds, lightweight, durable SSD."

However, some users pointed out that while the speeds are impressive for a SATA SSD, they don’t match the performance of NVMe drives. But for the price, the Fikwot FX815 offers excellent value.

Durability and Build Quality: Built to Last

The Fikwot FX815 is designed to be shock and vibration resistant, making it a reliable choice for both portable and stationary setups. Customers have highlighted its durability and quiet operation.

  • Longevity
A user running a Blue Iris NVR system for IP cameras praised the SSD's durability, saying, "The 5-year/3200 TBW warranty means that I should time out before I hit my write limit."
  • Reliability
Another customer mentioned, "It is reliable to use with over 200 TB max written lifespan."

While most users are satisfied with the build quality, a few noted that the SSD feels lightweight, which might raise concerns about its sturdiness. However, this hasn’t translated into any performance issues so far.

Compatibility: Versatile and Easy to Install

The Fikwot FX815 is compatible with a wide range of devices, including laptops, desktops, and gaming consoles. Its slim 7mm form factor makes it ideal for ultrabooks and slim notebooks.

  • Easy Installation

  • PS4 Pro Compatibility
A gamer shared, "I bought this for my PS4 Pro because it has a D-Ram cache. It was the least expensive D-Ram SSD I could find, and it has been working great."

However, some users expressed disappointment with the limited availability of higher-capacity models (e.g., 2TB), which are often out of stock.

Value for Money: Affordable and Feature-Packed

One of the most appealing aspects of the Fikwot FX815 is its affordability. Customers have consistently praised its competitive pricing and the inclusion of a 5-year warranty.

  • Budget-Friendly
A reviewer noted, "About half the price of name-brand SSDs and comes with a 5-year warranty."
  • Great for Niche Use Cases
A user running an NVR system for IP cameras found the SSD to be a cost-effective solution, stating, "4TB of TLC for $180 makes this an awesome choice."

While the SSD delivers excellent value, some users mentioned that they would have preferred a higher-capacity model, but availability can be an issue.

The Fikwot FX815 512GB SSD is a solid choice for anyone looking to upgrade their storage without spending a fortune. It delivers impressive speeds, reliable performance, and excellent durability, all backed by a 5-year warranty. It was the least expensive D-Ram SSD I could find and it has been working great

I bought this for my PS4 Pro because it has a D-Ram cache . It was the least expensive D-Ram SSD I could find and it has been working great . Been using for weeks now and I have no complaints . Easy install and faster load times compared to HDD that was replaced. I would have liked the 2TB instead of the 1TB but it seems the 2TB is usually out of stock . About half the price of name brand SSD's and comes with a 5 year warranty .

Works well.

Works just fine after cloning my old hard drive to it and swapping it into my laptop

Good value SSD. Works just fine after cloning my old hard drive to it and swapping it into my laptop. Laptop now boots up within seconds instead of minutes.

For various reasons, we've kept adding IP cameras

I'm using an SFF PC at my wife's salon/boutique as a Blue Iris NVR. For various reasons, we've kept adding IP cameras. Disk space eventually became an issue, as the number of rolling days of retained recordings dropped to 3 days. The solution? Add 4TB of SSD, of course! I don't know if my requirements are common, but I wanted a SATA interface (my SFF didn't have any NVMe slots open), 4TB capacity, NO QLC, and I wanted the lowest price possible. I settled on the Fikwot FX812 PRO 4TB. I was a little familiar with the Fikwot brand, previously using an FS810 drive, so I figured the scam potential was low. But hey... trust, but verify, right? The first thing I did was to verify the drive capacity using RMPrep - and it's a real 4TB drive! Aside from that, there really aren't any surprises. SATA III isn't fast anymore, so it's no surprise that the FX812 is able to perform to the interface bandwidth. I didn't crack the drive open and verify that it's using TLC, but I figure the sustained write speed more or less confirmed it. It's hard to be excited about TLC, but when QLC is the alternative, it's still the lesser evil. I also can't say if the cache is HMB or not, but the performance is worlds better than cacheless units. Considering that the drive is in an NVR, I'm not really as worried about raw performance, as I am about durability. The 5 year/3200 TBW warranty means that I should time out before I hit my write limit (~1 full drive write/16 days). As it is, I'm happy with the FX812 PRO - 4TB of TLC for $180 (at the time of this review) makes this an awesome choice. I'll update this review if I run into any reliability issues. Highly Recommended

It is reliable to use with over 200 TB max written lifespan

This is a very good 512 GB SSD with data transfer speed around 500 mbps read and 400 mbps write that is 5-10 times as fast as most sata based hard drives with 5400 or 7200 rpm. It is reliable to use with over 200 TB max written lifespan.
