Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying

Performance: Speed That Impresses

One of the standout features of the Inland TN470 is its impressive read and write speeds. Many users have reported that the SSD delivers on its promise of fast data transfer, making it ideal for gaming, video editing, and multitasking.

  • "I tested this SSD on my gaming PC, and it easily hit the advertised speeds in a PCIe 4.0 slot," shared one satisfied customer.
  • Another user noted, "The product matched the advertisement—impressive read and write speeds for a low-cost M.2 SSD."

However, some users mentioned that while the SSD performs well for general tasks, it might not be the best choice for game loading times. One reviewer stated, "It’s a little slow for loading games, but it still works with them."

Installation: Easy and Hassle-Free

The Inland TN470 is praised for its easy installation process, especially for those using it in a PS5 or PC.

  • "Installing it in my PS5 was very simple and easy," said one user. They also highlighted the importance of pairing it with a compatible heatsink, which ensured a seamless fit and optimal performance.
  • Another customer shared, "Good value, easy to install. It speeded up my older laptop significantly."

However, one user learned the hard way that proper installation is key. They admitted, "I unintentionally overtightened the fastener on my motherboard, which caused driver and internet speed issues." After correcting the mistake, they were able to enjoy the SSD’s full potential.

Durability and Reliability: Built to Last

The Inland TN470 is designed with longevity in mind, boasting an MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) of 1.5 million hours and a 1200 TBW (Terabytes Written) endurance rating.

  • "It’s been about 6 months since I bought this SSD, and it’s still going strong," reported a PS5 user. They also appreciated the ability to offload games onto the SSD to reduce wear on their console’s main storage.
  • Another customer echoed this sentiment, stating, "Great, cheap, and reliable. An economical choice for expanding storage."

Value for Money: Budget-Friendly Performance

One of the most appealing aspects of the Inland TN470 is its affordability. Many users praised it as a cost-effective alternative to more expensive SSDs without compromising on performance.

  • "I bought this SSD on a whim, thinking it might be a bad decision, but it turned out to be a great purchase," shared one happy customer.
  • Another reviewer added, "You can’t go wrong with this SSD, especially if you’re on a budget."

I bought this Inland SSD for my PS5 because it was one of the less expensive options and seem to have many good reviews so I figured I might as well go for it! First, I did test it with my gaming PC and was easily able to get around the specified maximum read/right speeds in a PCIe 4.0 slot. Afterwards, I placed it in my PS5 (very simple and easy process).. also bought the combo heatsink slot cover designed to replace the stock SSD slot cover for the PS5. This worked out amazing! Since I did read plenty of reviews about many other heatsinks that don't fit very well and can cause problems with the stock SSD cover that comes with the PS5. At the time I'm writing this review, it's been about 6 months since I bought this Inland SSD and it's still going strong! I've moved quite a bit of games on and off of it, since I'd rather download new games onto this add-on SSD; as opposed to having so many extra reads and writes on the main SSD inside the PS5 since the extra SSD can easily be replaced if needed. All in all, you can't go wrong with this SSD! Regardless of whatever you're using it for, I highly recommend this for anybody that's looking for a solid m.2 SSD, and it's especially great whether you're on a budget or just want to save some cash!

 Speeded up my older laptop

Good value, easy to install. Speeded up my older laptop.

Then sudden drops, not because of the device; but because of user error

First of all, I noticed incredible speeds at first. Then sudden drops, not because of the device; but because of user error. I unintentionally overtightened the fastener on my motherboard and it caused all sorts of strange issues with drivers and internet speeds. It's been over a month now and I'm now enjoying the performance in many applications outside of gaming with this drive. I bought it on a whim, thinking that it was going to be a bad decision. But it honestly boiled down to a personal mistake. Love the drive, even if at first I thought it was glitchy. One thing you can take away from this review is: make sure you screw down nvme ssd's properly. Don't overtighten the screws. You'll regret it later on. Will definitely buy more stuff from Micro Center!
