Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying
Performance and Speed
One of the standout features of the OM600 mSATA SSD is its speed. Customers have praised its read and write speeds, with some even reporting benchmarks exceeding the advertised specs. One reviewer noted, "This 128GB SSD benchmarks at 551 MB/s read speed and 508 MB/s write speed, exceeding the listed spec."
However, it’s worth noting that this is an older-style SSD that caps out around 500MB/s. While this is plenty fast for most basic uses, it may not meet the needs of users requiring cutting-edge performance. As one customer put it, "Older style SSD that caps out around 500MB/s rates, plenty fast for most basic uses."
Compatibility and Installation
The OM600 is designed for mSATA interfaces, which is crucial to note before purchasing. As one reviewer emphasized, "First things - make sure this is actually the form factor you need! There is a difference between mSATA and NVME, they are physically different interfaces."
For those with compatible devices, installation is a breeze. One user shared, "Plugged this into an open mSATA socket. Drive was recognized and works well." Another customer mentioned, "Popped in, worked just fine, no complaints so far! Hopefully it lasts."
Durability and Lifespan
Thanks to its 3D TLC NAND flash technology, the OM600 is built to last. Customers have expressed confidence in its durability, with one stating, "Since it uses 3D TLC NAND Flash, it should have an excellent lifespan."
The drive also operates seamlessly across a wide temperature range (0°C to 70°C) and can withstand storage temperatures from -40°C to 85°C, making it suitable for various environments.
Value for Money
The OM600 offers excellent value, especially for those needing a smaller boot or system drive. As one reviewer pointed out, "This is a great little drive, perfect if you need a smaller boot or system drive and don't want to waste capacity (and money) on a larger drive that will be wasted."
Conclusion: Is the OM600 mSATA SSD Worth It?
The OM600 mSATA SSD 1TB is a solid choice for users seeking a compact, reliable, and high-performance storage solution. Its fast read/write speeds, durable build, and compatibility with older devices make it a versatile option for a variety of applications.
However, it’s essential to ensure that your device supports the mSATA interface before purchasing, as this drive is not interchangeable with newer formats like NVME or M.2. Additionally, while its performance is impressive for basic tasks, it may not satisfy users requiring the latest in SSD technology.
In summary, if you’re looking for an affordable, dependable SSD for an older laptop, POS system, or server, the OM600 mSATA SSD is a fantastic choice. Backed by a 3-year warranty, it offers peace of mind and long-term reliability.

This 128GB SSD benchmarks at 551 MBs read speed, 508 MBs write speed exceeding the listed spec. A note, this is an mSata drive used in older devices, not sata, m2, or nvme which replaced it and isn’t interchangeable. Worked great on an older laptop I had. Overall a good drive.
Plugged this into an open mSATA socket. Drive was recognized and works well. I haven't run formal benchmark tests but the performance speed wise seems good.
