Works good for older systems using this form of SSD. Not AS quick as NVMe, but still helps boot up way fast and 512 is a decent size for the harddrive. I've found many a system from 2012 to 2015 with these slots in the computers, but they were using spinny drives for their main. This way was able to convert computers to faster drive, and use the spinny drive for storage. While I haven't long term stress tested it, it works fairly well so far. Remember, with all SSDs, once you go past halfway full, it will start slowing down. Also, do NOT defragment these.
I don't know what the lifetime is, but I bought 2 64GB a couple of years ago for the same price as these 128GB, for a project that stayed in a dome in the desert full time. They are attached to Raspberry Pi 4B's. One was a spare. The main one lost the ability to boot. I got these to replace them both. They've been running a couple of weeks, rebooting often, and they boot noticibly faster than the old ones. Time will tell how long they last. I'm not in the desert any longer, so they might last a few more years.
