Works great in both new and older systems that support M.2. Installed one and a brand-new build as well as one in an older ASUS Z97 system. Works perfectly in both. The Z97 does not support the full speed since it only has a PCIe 3.0 buss but still works great with this M.2 SSD. Used a PCIe adapter card for that install and the computer even boots from it without issue.
