It was very easy to install and has so far worked with no issues. Speed is fine although I don't see a huge boost over the sata SSD I already have installed. Definitely faster than my external hard drive though. Only been around a week since installing so I'll update if I find any problems, but so far I'd say this is a great bargain drive. I'm making a point not to overfill/work the drive too....mileage can vary depending on usage so I'm going to try and get the most life out of it that I can. --edit It's been a while since I purchased the drive and I can say that it still is working in tip top shape on my Gigabyte board. This simple little upgrade has helped me store many more games to be played at faster speeds and I absolutely recommend the purchase. My only regret is not getting a bigger drive since they had larger options. Take care of it and it will take care of you.
Good little drive but, I personally just ordered a small one, i’d recommend going with a 512GB version or higher. the design is very easy to install and setup. it produces minimal heat and sound as i cant even tell its there! this drive has worked great for me and has plenty of lifespan left for many years to come. and the speed is amazing! its a very nice blazing fast drive. 10/10 drive, but go for the 512GB instead.
I got this to upgrade a new laptop that simply didn't have enough storage. It was fast and easy to install it in my Dell laptop, fortunately - just open the 8 screws, pull off the lid, and swap it out. Some systems might be harder. Getting it working was a little harder, as I had to manually reinstall Windows and put my software on. If I was migrating from an old system to a new one, I'd have done a lot of backups, but this was nice and easy. Performance is great. Haven't had any issues with all that space; it just runs and doesn't complain. I've had a few SP drives before and these always work well. No regrets!
I added this to the 2nd SSD slot in my MSI laptop. It shows up as the D: drive with about 248gb of free space. Works great! It seems fast enough, but it's a bit slower than the factory C: drive when Norton Antivirus scans large files. I took away 1 star for that. I also have Silicon Power 2.5 in SATA 256gb SSD in my other laptop. This brand seems as good as any other budget SSD.
Speeds and actual drive space are smaller and slower than advertised. a gig is 1024mb by factory default but when buying these it's only 1000 but not a big difference. Speed catch revealed actual speeds of 1800mb/sec for catch and 1500mb/sec on downloads. But over all runs fantastically and as long as you can understand what I have stated for the speed of the drive you will not be disappointed
I've been running with a 2018 HP Omen 15-CE018dx since 2019 when I bought it refurbished. It works great still, despite its issues, and I don't really have the money to replace it with a proper desktop gaming rig right now. I upgraded the RAM a while ago, but in the great year 2025 I've been having some issues with newer games as they're made to run on SSDs as the new standard. Most games still run, but do suffer performance/rendering issues when run on HDDs alone. (I'm looking at you, BG3, my beloved) This was super easy to install in my laptop, and to format in Windows 10. I will say, despite being labeled as 2TB, it has around 1.81TB. It's not the biggest deal in the world- but if you're looking for exactly 2TB, you might try another one. So far, it's running games WONDERFULLY. I got my steam library moved over to the SSD and BG3 has gone from taking 2 minutes to load the main menu with mods (and even then, taking another 1-2 minutes to fully load the models on the main menu screens, and even longer for the textures), to taking sub 30 seconds- even with all of my mods. I can also FINALLY play Marvel Rivals, whereas on the HDD I kept getting stuck at 99% loaded when trying to join practice lobbies- now I can live out my Jeff the Shark dreams. I can't speak on the longevity of the SSD yet, nor its performance when it's full (I've only got about 320GB worth of games on it at the moment). However, if I ever experience any issues, I will be returning to this review to update!
