With read speeds of up to 3300 MB/s and write speeds of up to 2700 MB/s, this SSD promises to deliver exceptional performance for gaming, multitasking, and demanding applications. Built with 3D NAND Flash technology, it offers high-density storage for large files, games, and multimedia content. Plus, its M.2 interface ensures seamless compatibility with a wide range of desktops and laptops.
But does it live up to the hype? Let’s dive into the pros and cons based on real customer experiences.
Pros and Cons of the HP EX900 Plus 1TB M.2 SSD
1. Performance: Lightning-Fast Speeds
One of the standout features of the HP EX900 Plus is its impressive speed. Customers have praised its ability to significantly reduce load times and improve system responsiveness. One user mentioned, "Best $60 I spent in a long time. Big enough to install a few large games. Access time is insanely fast." Another customer noted that the SSD worked flawlessly after replacing their old 125GB NVMe drive, stating, "It fit and ran fast. I reinstalled Win10 and everything worked fine."
However, some users pointed out that while the SSD performs well, it may not be the absolute fastest option on the market. But for the price, it’s hard to beat.
2. Ease of Installation
The HP EX900 Plus is designed for hassle-free installation. Many customers appreciated how straightforward the process was. One reviewer shared, "I swapped out the drive, super easy. Works great." Another mentioned, "Even comes with an installation screw," highlighting the thoughtful inclusion of accessories to make the setup process smoother.
That said, compatibility is key. One user emphasized the importance of checking your computer model before purchasing: "PLEASE please PLEASE, check your computer model to make sure this is what you need." This is especially crucial for older systems, as newer M.2 SSDs might not fit.
3. Compatibility and Durability
The HP EX900 Plus is engineered for wide compatibility, supporting both Intel and AMD platforms. This makes it a versatile choice for a variety of systems. One customer shared their experience using it in a 2017 HP Pavilion, stating, "This was the same brand, for use in that model, so works great."
Durability is another strong suit. The SSD undergoes rigorous testing for electrical, application, and compatibility performance, ensuring long-term reliability. Backed by a 5-year limited warranty, it offers peace of mind for users who want a dependable storage solution.
4. Value for Money
At its price point, the HP EX900 Plus offers excellent value. Customers have repeatedly mentioned how affordable it is compared to other NVMe SSDs with similar specs. One reviewer called it "the best $60 I spent in a long time," while another appreciated its ample storage capacity for large games and files.
However, some users noted that while the SSD is a great budget option, it may not be the best choice for high-end gaming rigs or professional workstations that require top-tier performance.
Conclusion: Is the HP EX900 Plus 1TB M.2 SSD Worth It?
The HP EX900 Plus 1TB M.2 SSD is a solid choice for anyone looking to upgrade their storage without breaking the bank. Its blazing-fast speeds, easy installation, and wide compatibility make it a versatile option for gamers, professionals, and everyday users alike. The inclusion of a 5-year warranty further adds to its appeal, ensuring long-term reliability.
However, it’s important to note that while the SSD performs exceptionally well for its price, it may not be the fastest or most durable option available. Additionally, compatibility with older systems should be verified before purchase.
Final Verdict: If you’re seeking a budget-friendly NVMe SSD that delivers excellent performance and reliability, the HP EX900 Plus is a fantastic choice. Just make sure it’s compatible with your system, and you’ll be good to go!

Comments from Amazon:
I bought this to replace NVMe SSD (125GB) in an HP All-in-One PC. It fit and ran fast. I reinstalled Win10 and everything worked fine. A Windows update crashed the system which I suspect was due to a driver update to the discrete processor. I forgot to disable the processor as I had in the past. Can't fault the new HP EX900 Plus 1TB M.2 SSD.
Good , working well.
I swapped out the drive, super easy. Works great.
Best $60 I spend in a long time. Big enough to install a few large games. Access time is insanely fast.
Works just fine so far.
Normally I would not use a drive like this for the NVMe slot, but this needed to go into a 2017 HP Pavillion, and current m2 SSDs would not fit. This was the same brand, for use in that model, so works great. PLEASE please PLEASE, check your computer model to make sure this is what you need. You can find out by typing in your computer model number (barring the insides having been traded out by someone) or board model, and seeing what the storage is.
