Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying

1. Performance and Speed

One of the standout features of the EDILOCA ES106 SSD is its speed. Customers have praised its ability to deliver real-world read speeds of 300-500MB/s, which is more than enough for everyday tasks like booting up your system, loading applications, and transferring files.

Customer Feedback

  • "Fast affordable SSD. Achieving 300-500MB/s in real-world tasks. So far, it's working well after three complete writes and erases."
  • "I installed this in a $9 UGREEN 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure USB 3.0 to SATA III Adapter as a backup drive. My first transfer of 23GB of photos and videos took just under 2 minutes."

However, some users noted that while the speeds are impressive for the price, they might not match the performance of higher-end SSDs from brands like Samsung or Western Digital.

2. Build Quality and Durability

The EDILOCA ES106 SSD is built with 3D TLC NAND Flash technology, which ensures data integrity and extends the drive's lifespan. Customers have reported that the drive feels solid and well-constructed, with no issues during installation or use.

Customer Feedback

  • "I even disassembled it because I was half expecting it to not be an SSD, and it’s an actual SSD under the cover."
  • "Does the job just as well as a name brand of the same item... only time will tell if it will hold up, though."

That said, some users expressed concerns about the long-term durability of the drive, as it’s a relatively new brand in the market.

3. Compatibility and Ease of Installation

The EDILOCA ES106 SSD is compatible with a wide range of systems, including Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. Its 2.5-inch form factor makes it easy to install in both laptops and desktops.

Customer Feedback

  • "Bought 2 of these SSD drives to replace older drives in one of my PCs, and I'm happy with the performance. Disk info shown here is with them installed in a 2015 HP Elitedesk 800 G1."
  • "Comes with a step-by-step installation guide, making it simple to upgrade your system even for first-time users."

However, a few users mentioned that the serial number on the unit did not match the software SN, which could be a minor inconvenience for those who rely on precise tracking.

4. Storage Capacity

With 1TB of storage, the EDILOCA ES106 SSD offers ample space for your operating system, applications, and files. Customers have found this capacity to be more than sufficient for their needs.

Customer Feedback

  • "2TB is enough room to store 3 weeks' worth of 10-hour-a-day programming with room for unwatched movies."
  • "Great price, speeds perform at correct levels, and the storage capacity is perfect for my needs."

5. Price and Value

Perhaps the most appealing aspect of the EDILOCA ES106 SSD is its affordable price. Customers have consistently praised the drive for offering excellent performance at a fraction of the cost of more established brands.

Customer Feedback

  • "Great price, great drive. For a $27 500GB drive, this thing flies."
  • "I'm seriously impressed with the price and performance."

Conclusion: Is the EDILOCA ES106 SSD Worth It?

The EDILOCA ES106 1TB SSD is a solid choice for anyone looking to upgrade their system without breaking the bank. Its fast read and write speeds, wide compatibility, and affordable price make it an attractive option for both casual users and tech enthusiasts.

However, it’s worth noting that the drive’s long-term durability remains a question mark for some users, and its performance, while impressive for the price, may not match that of premium SSDs.

Final Verdict

If you’re on a budget and need a reliable SSD for everyday use, the EDILOCA ES106 is a great choice. But if you’re looking for top-tier performance and brand reputation, you might want to consider more established options.

My wife & I Vacation in Florida in our vacation house on a private road where cable is not allowed

Product is just as advertised. My wife & I Vacation in Florida in our vacation house on a private road where cable is not allowed. I record TV shows on the SSD and our TV allows us to select them through a USB to Drive adapter. 2 TB is enough room to store 3 weeks worth of 10 hr a day programming with room for unwatched movies. We are both in our 70's and need the relaxing evenings to recover from our day excursions.

Does the job just as well as a name brand of the same item...only time will tell if it will hold up tho...

5" Hard Drive Enclosure USB 3

I installed this in a $9 UGREEN 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure USB 3.0 to SATA III Adapter as a backup drive. I don't need a fast drive so I went cheap and was pleasantly fooled. It is WAY better than expected. Note the B&W photo is in MB\sec, not Mb\sec. Using the $9 USB 3 enclosure my first transfer of 23 gigs of photos and videos took just under 2 minutes, and I checked the transfer after completion just to be sure I didn't skip any files. None were missing or incomplete, so for a $27 500g drive this thing flies. I'm not going to ditch my WD Black anytime soon, but this drive really impressed me. I've never heard of this brand and know nothing about the chip maker or how long it will last, but it has a 3 year warranty so I'm willing to let it do it's thing and see what happens. This is not my only backup so if it craters it won't be the end of the world. I'm seriously impressed with the price and performance.
