Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying
Performance and Speed
One of the standout features of the EDILOCA ES106 is its speed. Customers have praised its ability to deliver real-world read speeds of 300-500MB/s, which is impressive for a budget-friendly SSD. One user noted that transferring 23GB of photos and videos took just under 2 minutes, showcasing its efficiency.
However, some users mentioned that while the speeds are good, they don’t quite match the 550MB/s read speed advertised. This discrepancy might be due to system limitations or the use of external enclosures, but overall, the performance is still considered excellent for the price.
Storage Capacity and Usability
With 4TB of storage, this SSD is a dream come true for users who need to store large files, such as video editors, gamers, or those who record TV shows. One customer shared how they use the drive to store 3 weeks’ worth of 10-hour daily TV recordings, highlighting its practicality for media-heavy tasks.
The 2.5-inch form factor ensures compatibility with most desktops and laptops, and the plug-and-play setup makes installation a breeze. However, some users noted that the drive requires initial formatting in Disk Management, which might be a minor inconvenience for less tech-savvy individuals.
Durability and Build Quality
The 3D TLC NAND Flash technology and shock-resistant design make the EDILOCA ES106 a durable choice. One user even disassembled the drive to confirm its authenticity and was pleasantly surprised to find a genuine SSD inside.
That said, some customers expressed concerns about the longevity of the drive, as it’s a relatively new brand. While the 3-year warranty provides some peace of mind, only time will tell how well it holds up under heavy use.
Price and Value
The EDILOCA ES106 is a budget-friendly option that punches above its weight. Customers have repeatedly praised its affordability, with one user calling it a "great price for a great drive." For those who don’t need the absolute fastest speeds but still want reliable performance, this SSD is a fantastic value.
However, some users pointed out that the serial number on the unit doesn’t match the software-detected SN, which could be a minor red flag for those concerned about authenticity.
Conclusion: Is the EDILOCA ES106 4TB SSD Worth It?
The EDILOCA ES106 4TB SSD is a solid choice for anyone looking to upgrade their storage and performance without breaking the bank. Its high capacity, impressive speeds, and durable design make it a versatile option for a wide range of users, from gamers to content creators.
While there are some minor concerns about longevity and speed consistency, the overall consensus is overwhelmingly positive. If you’re in the market for a reliable, high-capacity SSD at an affordable price, the EDILOCA ES106 is definitely worth considering.
Final Verdict
A high-value SSD that delivers on performance and storage, making it an excellent upgrade for budget-conscious users.

Great price great drive
Fast affordable ssd. achieving 300-500Mbs in real world task. not sure about how many r/w cycles it will last but so far its working well after three complete writes and erases. i even disassembled it because i was half expecting it to not be an ssd and its an actually ssd under the cover. Just wondering what its life span will be
Product is just as advertised. My wife & I Vacation in Florida in our vacation house on a private road where cable is not allowed. I record TV shows on the SSD and our TV allows us to select them through a USB to Drive adapter. 2 TB is enough room to store 3 weeks worth of 10 hr a day programming with room for unwatched movies. We are both in our 70's and need the relaxing evenings to recover from our day excursions.
Does the job just as well as a name brand of the same item...only time will tell if it will hold up tho...
I installed this in a $9 UGREEN 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure USB 3.0 to SATA III Adapter as a backup drive. I don't need a fast drive so I went cheap and was pleasantly fooled. It is WAY better than expected. Note the B&W photo is in MB\sec, not Mb\sec. Using the $9 USB 3 enclosure my first transfer of 23 gigs of photos and videos took just under 2 minutes, and I checked the transfer after completion just to be sure I didn't skip any files. None were missing or incomplete, so for a $27 500g drive this thing flies. I'm not going to ditch my WD Black anytime soon, but this drive really impressed me. I've never heard of this brand and know nothing about the chip maker or how long it will last, but it has a 3 year warranty so I'm willing to let it do it's thing and see what happens. This is not my only backup so if it craters it won't be the end of the world. I'm seriously impressed with the price and performance.
Bought 2 of these SSD drives to replace older drives in one of my PCs and I'm happy with the performance. Disk info shown here is with them installed in a 2015 Hp Elitedesk 800 G1, very little to complain about. Great price, speeds perform at correct levels, serial number on unit does not match software SN.
