Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying

Performance and Speed

One of the standout features of the Ediloca ES106 is its speed. Customers have praised its ability to deliver real-world read speeds of 300-500 MB/s, which is impressive for an SSD in this price range. One reviewer noted, "Fast affordable SSD. Achieving 300-500 MB/s in real-world tasks. My system feels much more responsive now."

However, some users pointed out that while the speeds are good, they may not match the performance of higher-end SSDs from more established brands. Still, for the price, the Ediloca ES106 offers excellent value.

Price and Value

The affordability of the Ediloca ES106 is a major selling point. Many customers have highlighted how this SSD delivers premium performance at a fraction of the cost. One satisfied buyer shared, "I'm seriously impressed with the price and performance. For a $27 500GB drive, this thing flies."

Another reviewer mentioned, "Does the job just as well as a name brand of the same item...only time will tell if it will hold up though." This sentiment reflects the general consensus: the Ediloca ES106 is a great budget option, but its long-term durability remains to be seen.

Durability and Reliability

The Ediloca ES106 is built with 3D NAND Flash technology, which enhances its durability and longevity. Customers have reported that the drive performs well under normal usage conditions. One user even disassembled the SSD to verify its authenticity, stating, "I disassembled it because I was half expecting it to not be an SSD, and it's an actual SSD under the cover."

However, some users expressed concerns about the drive's lifespan. While the 3-year warranty provides peace of mind, only time will tell how well the Ediloca ES106 holds up over extended use.

Compatibility and Ease of Installation

The 2.5-inch form factor makes the Ediloca ES106 compatible with a wide range of devices, from desktops to laptops. Customers have found the installation process to be straightforward, with one reviewer noting, "I installed this in a $9 UGREEN 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure USB 3.0 to SATA III Adapter as a backup drive. It works flawlessly."

Another user shared, "Bought 2 of these SSD drives to replace older drives in one of my PCs, and I'm happy with the performance." This highlights the drive's versatility and ease of integration into existing systems.

Final Verdict: Is the Ediloca ES106 500GB SSD Worth It?

The Ediloca ES106 500GB SSD is an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their system on a budget. Its fast speeds, generous storage capacity, and wide compatibility make it a versatile option for a variety of users. While it may not match the performance of high-end SSDs, it delivers exceptional value for its price.

Pros:

  • Affordable price point
  • Fast read speeds (up to 550 MB/s)
  • Easy to install and compatible with most devices
  • Durable build with 3D NAND Flash technology

My wife & I Vacation in Florida in our vacation house on a private road where cable is not allowed

Product is just as advertised. My wife & I Vacation in Florida in our vacation house on a private road where cable is not allowed. I record TV shows on the SSD and our TV allows us to select them through a USB to Drive adapter. 2 TB is enough room to store 3 weeks worth of 10 hr a day programming with room for unwatched movies. We are both in our 70's and need the relaxing evenings to recover from our day excursions.

Does the job just as well as a name brand of the same item...only time will tell if it will hold up tho...

5" Hard Drive Enclosure USB 3

I installed this in a $9 UGREEN 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure USB 3.0 to SATA III Adapter as a backup drive. I don't need a fast drive so I went cheap and was pleasantly fooled. It is WAY better than expected. Note the B&W photo is in MB\sec, not Mb\sec. Using the $9 USB 3 enclosure my first transfer of 23 gigs of photos and videos took just under 2 minutes, and I checked the transfer after completion just to be sure I didn't skip any files. None were missing or incomplete, so for a $27 500g drive this thing flies. I'm not going to ditch my WD Black anytime soon, but this drive really impressed me. I've never heard of this brand and know nothing about the chip maker or how long it will last, but it has a 3 year warranty so I'm willing to let it do it's thing and see what happens. This is not my only backup so if it craters it won't be the end of the world. I'm seriously impressed with the price and performance.

Bought 2 of these SSD drives to replace older drives in one of my PCs and I'm happy with the performance. Disk info shown here is with them installed in a 2015 Hp Elitedesk 800 G1, very little to complain about. Great price, speeds perform at correct levels, serial number on unit does not match software SN.
