Fikwot FN203 M.2 SATA SSD Review: A Budget-Friendly Storage Upgrade with Impressive Performance
If you're looking for a reliable and affordable storage upgrade for your Ultrabook, tablet, or mini PC, the Fikwot FN203 M.2 SATA SSD is a solid contender. With its 256GB capacity, SLC Cache technology, and 3D NAND TLC flash memory, this SSD promises fast speeds, durability, and compatibility with a wide range of devices. But does it live up to the hype? Let’s dive into the details based on real customer experiences.
Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying
Performance and Speed
One of the standout features of the Fikwot FN203 is its blazing-fast speeds. Customers have praised its ability to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 550MB/s and write speeds of up to 460MB/s. One user mentioned, "I liked the low price of this drive, it had great speed and it's true to its capacity." This makes it an excellent choice for quick boot-ups, faster program launches, and reduced game loading times.
However, while the speed is impressive for the price, some users noted that it may not match the performance of higher-end SSDs. But for everyday use and light gaming, it’s more than sufficient.
Ease of Installation and Compatibility
The Fikwot FN203 is designed for internal installation, and customers have found it incredibly easy to set up. One reviewer shared, "I had no problem connecting it to the motherboard, and it works as advertised." Its M.2 2280 form factor ensures compatibility with a wide range of devices, including Ultrabooks, tablets, and mini PCs.
Another user highlighted its versatility, stating, "Lo compré para hacer pruebas en laptops que son compatibles con disco M.2 SATA y ver si funcionan, hasta ahora me ha ido todo bien por eso le califico 5 estrellas." (Translation: "I bought it to test laptops compatible with M.2 SATA drives, and so far, everything has worked well, which is why I give it 5 stars.")
Durability and Reliability
The Fikwot FN203 is built to last, with a 100TBW endurance rating and 3-year quality assurance. Many users have reported using the drive daily for over a year without any issues. One satisfied customer said, "Been using this as an additional internal data drive and so far (1 year in from November 2023) it has been working fine. It autodetects fine, formatted fine, and while I have not filled it more than 10%, it gets used daily and so far has just worked."
However, there are a few exceptions. One user shared a disappointing experience: "I bought a FIKWOT 2TB SSD in April 2024. I didn't need to use it until January 2025. When I tried to format it in an external enclosure, it showed hundreds of errors." While this seems to be an isolated case, it’s worth noting that the brand’s customer service response was less than ideal, with the user stating, "I tried contacting FIKWOT, but they do not reply to email."
Value for Money
The Fikwot FN203 is a budget-friendly option that doesn’t compromise on performance. Customers have consistently praised its affordability, with one reviewer simply stating, "It’s a good buy." Another user appreciated the 3-year warranty, even though they faced issues with the product. Amazon stepped in to provide a partial refund, which softened the blow.
Potential Drawbacks
While the majority of reviews are positive, there are a few areas where the Fikwot FN203 falls short:
- Customer Support
Some users reported difficulties in reaching out to Fikwot for assistance, which can be frustrating if you encounter issues. - Isolated Quality Issues
A small percentage of users experienced defects, such as formatting errors, though these cases appear to be rare. - Not for Heavy Use
While it’s great for everyday tasks, heavy users or gamers might find its performance limiting compared to premium SSDs.
Final Verdict: Is the Fikwot FN203 M.2 SATA SSD Worth It?
The Fikwot FN203 M.2 SATA SSD is an excellent choice for budget-conscious users seeking a reliable and speedy storage upgrade. Its compact design, ease of installation, and impressive performance make it a standout option for Ultrabooks, tablets, and mini PCs.
However, it’s not without its flaws. While most users have had positive experiences, the occasional quality issue and lackluster customer support are worth considering. If you’re looking for a no-frills SSD that delivers solid performance at an affordable price, the Fikwot FN203 is a great pick. But if you need top-tier performance or robust customer service, you might want to explore other options.
In conclusion, the Fikwot FN203 M.2 SATA SSD is a solid 4 out of 5 stars product. It’s a reliable, budget-friendly solution for everyday use, but it’s not perfect.

Cumple con todos los datos de la descripción.
I bought a FIKWOT 2TB ssd in April 2024. I didn't need to use it until Jan 2025. When I tried to format it in an external enclosure it showed hundreds of errors. I tried it in a high-end BookCase enclosure that I use every day and it was the same. I tried conrtacting FIKWOT, but they do not reply to email. I explained to Amazon that it was warranted for 3 years, but that there was no way to return it for repair or replacement. Amazon agreed to refund 75% of the price if I returned it to Amazon, so it wasn't a total loss.
I liked the low price of this drive, it had great speed and it's true to its capacity. I had no problem connecting it to the motherboard and it works as advertised. I'm happy that this SSD was compatible with the motherboard.
